14th National Congress of Communist Party of Vietnam Garners Extensive Coverage in Laos

Hanoi: Major media outlets in Laos have extensively covered the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), describing it as a landmark political event.

According to Lao News Agency, the congress reflects the confidence and aspirations for national development, continuing to consolidate public trust in the Party and inspiring determination among the Vietnamese populace.

Pasaxon, the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), along with the Lao News Agency, affirmed that the congress is a significant political event for Vietnam's Party, State, and people. It marks a new stage in the country's revolution and is expected to set orientations and goals to advance a comprehensive renewal process, guiding Vietnam into a new era of progress.

The Lao media emphasized the timing of the congress as Vietnam celebrates significant achievements over 80 years since the foundation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, especially during the 40 years of Doi moi (Renewal). Under CPV leadership, Vietnam has implemented socio-economic development plans, ensuring political stability, social security, and sustained economic growth, while enhancing its regional and international prominence.

The achievements, according to the articles, highlight the CPV's leadership and reflect the strong resolve of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people to build a prosperous, democratic, and civilised country through national solidarity.

Additionally, the outlets praised the comprehensive preparations for the congress, led by the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, and overseen by Party General Secretary To Lam. The preparatory work, including content and activities, was conducted in adherence to principles and regulations, ensuring quality and progress.

Key documents submitted to the congress were carefully drafted, offering a thorough review of past resolutions and strategic development orientations towards 2030. The reports noted extensive public consultation on these draft documents, with nearly 14 million contributions from the public.

Lao National Radio and the Lao Public Security newspaper highlighted the congress's motto of 'solidarity - democracy - discipline - breakthrough - development', reflecting an innovative spirit in leadership. Innovations at the 14th Congress include a detailed action plan for immediate implementation, extensive public consultation, and the organisation of a 'paperless' congress using digital materials.
