Vientiane: The first Lao Gold Festival is scheduled to take place from September 5-7, 2025, at the National Convention Hall in Vientiane. A press conference held on August 22, 2025, announced the event. Organizers anticipate around 30,000 attendees, including participants from both Laos and abroad.
According to Lao News Agency, Mr. Chanthone Sitthixay, General Director of Lao Gold Bank Limited and Chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee, stated that the Lao Gold Festival will become an annual national event. The festival aims to unite all sectors of the gold industry and related fields, promote the growth of the Lao gold industry, attract tourists, preserve Lao culture and traditions, and support socio-economic development.
Mr. Sitthixay further emphasized that the inaugural Lao Gold Festival in 2025 demonstrates the commitment of Lao Gold Bank to support and develop the gold industry. The event is also expected to create opportunities for the Lao populace to engage in sustainable economic growth.
The objectives of the Lao Gold Festival 2025 are to develop the Lao gold industry to meet international standards and improve the quality of Lao gold products for global market competitiveness. The festival also aims to promote creativity and innovation in the gold sector and related industries, enhance understanding of the cultural value of gold in Lao traditions, and create opportunities for learning, entertainment, and business networking.
The festival will feature a high-level seminar where experts will share knowledge and discuss the future of the gold industry. Additionally, it will include the launch of the LBB PLUS application, enabling safe and transparent online gold trading and investment in Laos. The exhibition will feature 50 gold shops and 15 silk shops, accompanied by a fashion show presenting gold jewelry and silk designs. Moreover, the festival will host business networking activities for entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders.
