Russia to Host World Digital Forum in Nizhny Novgorod

Nizhny Novgorod: Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod is set to host the World Digital Forum on June 5-6, where developing countries will engage in discussions on information technology. The forum will act as a platform for experts from around the world to explore various aspects of digital technology development, present new initiatives and proposals, and foster a conducive environment for business dialogue.

According to Lao News Agency, the event will include the signing of mutually beneficial cooperation agreements in the digital sector. It will bring together representatives from government agencies, businesses, academic and scientific communities, as well as international and regional organizations. The forum is anticipated to attract over 1,500 foreign guests on-site, with an additional 10,000 participants joining virtually.

Key issues to be addressed at the forum include the reduction of the digital gap, effective technology transfer, capacity building of the Global South, and international information security. These discussions will occur within the broader context of achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
