10th Plenary Session of the Party Central Committee Concludes with Key Resolutions

Vientiane: The 10th Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) concluded on May 23, following five days of high-level deliberations under the presidency of Party General Secretary and State President Thongloun Sisoulith.

According to Lao News Agency, the session occurred amid celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Party’s founding, a historic milestone that has galvanized national pride. The Central Committee reviewed the implementation of socio-economic development, budget, and monetary plans for the first half of 2025, setting strategic priorities for the remainder of the year. Despite global and regional challenges, Laos’ economy is showing signs of recovery, with stabilizing financial conditions and emerging positive trends.

Key agenda items included advancing the national campaign against drug-related issues and reinforcing the Party’s commitment to social stability. Preparatory documents for the 12th Party Congress were finalized, including updates to the Party’s political programme, socio-economic development strategy, and revised Party Rules. The session also commended the successful completion of provincial, municipal, and grassroots-level Party congresses and provided guidance for upcoming congresses in Vientiane and ministries.

In his closing address, Secretary General Thongloun Sisoulith emphasized the need for greater political responsibility, innovation, and visionary leadership among Central Committee members. He called for proactive measures to boost public confidence, accelerate national development, and uphold the Party’s leading role in guiding Laos toward prosperity.
