Paris: The French wine exporters federation expressed “huge disappointment” following the European Union’s admission of its failure to secure a tariff exemption for the sector in the recent US-EU trade deal.
According to Lao News Agency, the head of the wine and spirits federation FEVS, Gabriel Picard, stated that the absence of a tariff exemption is anticipated to create significant challenges for the wines and spirits sector. In response to this setback, France’s minister for trade, Laurent Saint-Martin, announced that the government would pursue “additional exemptions” under the framework of the US-EU trade agreement.
