Vientiane: Laos has reported a total of 9,372 dengue fever cases, including one death, from January to September 2025, according to the Ministry of Health.
According to Lao News Agency, the ministry’s report released on Monday highlighted that the capital, Vientiane, experienced the highest number of infections with 4,738 cases. Oudomxay Province reported 1,034 cases, and Vientiane Province had 693 cases.
The single fatality was reported in Vientiane Capital, where health authorities remain on high alert. The Lao government has urged health officials and medical staff nationwide to enhance the management and monitoring of dengue fever cases to curb further spread.
The Ministry of Health confirmed its continued collaboration with development partners to reduce the incidence of dengue. The public is being urged to remain vigilant, adopt preventive measures, and assist in limiting the risk of additional infections.
