TIKA Delivers Advanced Neonatal Equipment to Salavan Hospital, Boosting Newborn Care

Salavan: The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has provided advanced medical equipment to the Newborn Unit of Salavan Provincial Hospital, strengthening neonatal treatment capacity and supporting efforts to reduce newborn mortality in Laos.

According to Lao News Agency, TIKA's recent contribution aims to enhance the hospital's ability to care for newborns. The provision of this equipment is part of a broader initiative to improve healthcare services in the region and address critical health challenges facing newborns.

Earlier, TIKA, in partnership with the Department of Healthcare and Rehabilitation and the Turkish Embassy, organized a newborn health training program in Vientiane from February 10-11. The program, hosted at Mahosot Hospital, drew more than 50 doctors and nurses from 17 provinces and Vientiane Capital.

Officials said the training and equipment support are expected to improve the quality of neonatal care and contribute to reducing newborn mortality in Laos.
