MANILA: Department of Agriculture-accredited trucks transporting agricultural products will be exempted from toll fee increases and receive rebates beginning June 1.Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Executive Director Alvin Carullo said the program reduces the impact of the toll rate increase on inflation to ensure the stability of food prices.The rebate is equivalent to the recent enumerated toll increases.The program will initially run for three months and is subject to evaluation for possible extension, according to the TRB.For agri-trucks to qualify for the toll fee increase exemption, they should be DA-accredited and should have a valid Autosweep and/or Easytrip RFID accounts.The TRB said the enrollment process is as follows:1. Submit and present the requirements such as:Original DA accreditation certificateCopy of the vehicle's OR/CR (Official Receipt/Certificate of Registration)Valid IDEasytrip/Autosweep card3. Fill up the agricultural trucks toll fee increase exemption form provided by the Customer Service Center personnel.Submitted documents will be verified within seven working days.Enrollees will be notified of their enrollment status via their registered email addresses.Once approved, agri-truckers will enjoy a toll rebate that will be credited to their RFID accounts every Wednesday of the following week, the TRB said.Spot checks will be carried out to ensure enrolled trucks are transporting agricultural goods and products.Non-compliance may resul t in disqualification from the program.Source: Philippines News Agency
