Vientiane: Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay visited the Lao-International Precious Metals Refinery, where he was warmly welcomed by Chanthone Sitthixay, Chairman and Founder of the refinery, along with the management team. The visit included a briefing on the project's development, advanced refining technologies, modern management systems, and the refinery's long-term vision to meet international production standards.According to Lao News Agency, the refinery is committed to operating in accordance with the standards of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), a globally recognized benchmark for precious metals refining. Meeting these standards is anticipated to improve product quality, enhance international competitiveness, and add value to Laos' mineral resources, while also supporting sustainable economic development.During the visit, the management team guided the Deputy Prime Minister on a tour of the facility, highlighting its modern equipment, environmentally responsible production systems, and internationally aligned operational processes.Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay praised the refinery's dedication to establishing a high-standard processing facility and pursuing LBMA certification. He emphasized that this initiative is a significant step towards transitioning Laos from merely exporting raw minerals to producing higher-value refined products domestically.He reiterated the Government's support for the project and expressed confidence that it would contribute to advancing the Lao precious metals industry and strengthening its presence in international markets.
