Vientiane: Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune welcomed Mr. Liao Lin, Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), and his delegation during their official visit to Laos. DPM Kikeo recognized the significant role of ICBC’s Vientiane branch in the socio-economic development of Laos, emphasizing the strong ties between Laos and China. He noted ICBC’s impact on economic growth, job creation, and strengthening the financial infrastructure in the country.
According to Lao News Agency, DPM Kikeo commended the bank’s contributions to various sectors including trade, investment, infrastructure development, renewable energy projects, tourism, and international relations. He stressed the importance of ICBC’s presence in Laos for the country’s long-term prosperity.
In his response, Mr. Liao Lin expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and reiterated ICBC’s commitment to supporting the economic growth and regional integration of Laos. He acknowledged the progress in the Lao financial sector and highlighted ICBC’s initiatives in expanding financial services, promoting digital banking, and facilitating cross-border transactions between China and Laos.
