Manila: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is urging beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to actively participate in its campaign against misinformation and fake news, called ‘Tamang Tulong Sa Tamang Impormasyon’. This initiative is aimed at countering false narratives related to the agency’s programs.
According to Philippines News Agency, the ‘Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon’ campaign is DSWD’s strategic response to combat misleading claims and ensure that accurate information about its programs reaches the public and its beneficiaries. Marie Grace Ponce, the chief of 4Ps Social Marketing Division, emphasized during the agency’s online program ‘4Ps Fastbreak’ that the campaign was launched to deliver factual and transparent information to all stakeholders.
Ponce encouraged the public to follow only official government social media pages, such as those of DSWD and 4Ps, to stay informed about the latest developments and requirements for availing of the agency’s services. This would help program grantees access timely updates on payout activities, news about the 4Ps, and other relevant information.
She also highlighted the additional benefits for program members who follow the official pages, such as access to livestreamed events and sessions from family development programs. This enables beneficiaries to stay engaged even if they miss live sessions, ensuring they remain informed and compliant with program conditions.
The 4Ps program, managed by the DSWD, is a national strategy focused on poverty reduction and human capital investment in the Philippines. It provides cash subsidies to eligible households, contingent upon their adherence to health, nutrition, and education requirements.
