Pretoria: The Ministry of Minerals and Petroleum Resources of South Africa is organizing a meeting on the 29th of this month with G20 member countries, focusing on the critical minerals sector. The meeting aims to enhance inclusive growth and sustainable development through the strategic management of these essential minerals.

According to Lao News Agency, Minister Gwede Mantashe stated that the G20 Critical Minerals initiative aligns global priorities to ensure the sustainable and equitable use of minerals necessary for modern technologies and the transition to renewable energy. The event will gather representatives from government, industry, labor organizations, and civil society to engage in comprehensive dialogue on the vision, guiding principles, and key pillars of the framework.

In a ministerial communique, Mantashe emphasized the significance of collaboration, highlighting that harnessing the potential of critical minerals is vital for economic growth and ensuring a just transition to sustainability that includes all stakeholders.
