Havana: The 18th International Seminar on Journalism and Tourism began on Monday, with a concentrated focus on current travel trends and their global promotion. The event, running from June 16 to 20, is held in the academic halls of the Jose Marti International Institute of Journalism, where participants will attend lectures discussing travel trends both in Cuba and worldwide.
According to Lao News Agency, the seminar is sponsored by the Circle of Tourist Press at the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) and attracts tour operators and travel agents annually. Deputy Tourism Minister Adalberto Venero inaugurated the event, highlighting its significance in bridging journalism and tourism sectors.
Monday’s agenda includes a lecture on Content Strategies, featuring a practical case study of the Melia Trinidad Peninsula Hotel, presented by the hotel’s social manager, Lysielle Mora. This session aims to explore effective content strategies in tourism marketing.
This year’s seminar places special emphasis on nature, adventure, and rural travel, reflecting growing interest in these areas. It serves as a platform for journalists, communicators, and professionals to analyze global tourism trends. Topics such as the rise of ecotourism and the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) are of primary interest, providing insights into the evolving landscape of tourism and communication.
