Manila: Arellano University pulled off a 25-14, 23-25, 25-22, 26-24 victory over Colegio de San Juan de Letran to boost its semifinal bid in the 2025 V-League Collegiate Challenge at Paco Arena in Manila on Sunday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Laika Tudlasan, Samantha Gabrielle Tiratira, and Crisanta Servidad delivered double-digit scores as the Lady Chiefs improved their win-loss record to 3-3 for solo fourth. I told my players that it is up to them what we want to happen in our game — whether we want to extend our season. All of these, it is because of our players,” Arellano coach Obet Javier said in the post-match interview.
Arellano will face the College of Saint Benilde on Oct. 1 at PlayTime FilOil Centre in San Juan. There will be a two-week break to give way to the country’s hosting of the FIVB Men’s World Championship.
Marie Judiel Nitura scored 22 points off 19 attacks, two blocks, and one ace for Letran, which rallied from five points down to tie the score at 20-all in the fourth set. Arellano scored four straight points, capped by Tudlasan’s attack at 24-20, but Letran fought back to forge a 24-all deadlock. Tiratira scored on an attack and blocked Nitura in the next play to wrap up the match after one hour and 48 minutes.
Vanessa Sarie contributed 15 points on 13 attacks, one block, and one ace to go with 12 digs, while Leonilyn Padilla had six points for the Lady Knights, who took their fourth loss in seven outings.
