Vientiane:Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, Saleumxay Kommasith, and Prime Minister of Vietnam, Le Minh Hung, laid floral tributes at the Lao-Vietnam Friendship Park in Dan Sang village, Xaythany district, on October 9.
According to Lao News Agency, this event was part of the Vietnamese premier's official visit to Laos from October 8 to 9, intended to enhance the robust friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic partnership between the two nations.
The wreath-laying ceremony commemorated the significant contributions of the countries' founding leaders, honoring their dedication to national liberation, peacebuilding, independence, and prosperity for the Lao and Vietnamese people.
On this occasion, the prime ministers also planted trees at the park, which operates under the guidance of the Politburos of both the Lao and Vietnamese Parties. The park spans three hectares and serves as a public space for exercise, cultural tourism, and education, fostering the shared traditions of the two nations.
Additionally, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung visited the family of Mr. Saysomphone Phomvihane, the headquarters of Star Telecom, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, where he met with embassy staff and Vietnamese nationals residing in the country.
