Bandar seri begawan: The Lao Embassy in Brunei Darussalam has celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Lao National Day, hosting a ceremony on 8 December attended by Brunei's Minister of Education, diplomats, senior officials, business representatives, students, and Lao nationals living in the country.
According to Lao News Agency, in his remarks, Ambassador Heuankeo Sangsomsack highlighted key milestones in the Lao PDR's development over the past five decades, noting national progress and the government's efforts to promote peace, cooperation, and prosperity.
The Ambassador also recognized more than 32 years of diplomatic relations between Laos and Brunei, emphasizing sustained mutual support and growing cooperation. He welcomed preparations for the planned official visit of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to Brunei in 2026.
Ambassador Heuankeo expressed gratitude for Brunei's support, especially during Laos' ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024, and reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.
