Vientiane: Lao leaders have extended their condolences following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother of Thailand. President Thongloun Sisoulith sent a message of deep condolences to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
According to Lao News Agency, President Thongloun expressed profound sorrow, acknowledging Her Majesty’s dedication to the peace and well-being of the Thai people. He highlighted her contributions to the friendship and cooperation between Thailand and Laos, which have supported their shared development.
President Thongloun described the passing of Her Majesty as a significant loss for both the Thai nation and the Lao people. He conveyed his deepest condolences to the Royal Family and the Thai nation, wishing that Her Majesty’s soul may rest in peace.
In addition, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone sent condolences to Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Similarly, Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane extended his sympathies to Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
