Vientiane: Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Lao PDR and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam held a bilateral meeting in Vientiane on May 12 to review past cooperation and strengthen ties in culture and tourism for the years ahead. The Lao delegation was led by Suansavanh Viyaket, while the Vietnamese side was headed by Le Thi Phuong Thanh.According to Lao News Agency, both sides praised the close cooperation between Laos and Vietnam in culture and tourism over recent years, highlighting activities such as cultural weeks, border exchange festivals, sculpture camps, and participation in international cultural events. The meeting provided an opportunity to assess the achievements of bilateral cooperation during the 2021-2025 period and to discuss future plans aimed at strengthening the longstanding friendship, special solidarity, and strategic partnership between the two countries.During the meeting, the two ministries signed a new cultural and tourism cooperation plan for 2026-2030. Thi s plan is intended to further expand practical cooperation and support socio-economic development in both nations.
