Malabon ‘Pasasalamat’ Ceremony Honors Contributors to Local Economic Growth

Malabon: The Malabon City Government recently celebrated ‘Araw ng Pasasalamat’ (Thanksgiving Day) to recognize the significant contributions of individuals and organizations that have propelled local economic development and enhanced the quality of life for Malabue±os.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, alongside former Malabon representative Ricky Sandoval, City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete, and other city officials, presented plaques of recognition to 126 awardees across various categories at the Malabon Sports Complex. Among the awardees in the Malabon Ahon Media category was Philippine News Agency’s Joan Bondoc, acknowledged for her support and commitment to providing timely and accurate reporting through her photography.

City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete emphasized the importance of these partners in boosting service delivery, promoting transparency, and supporting the city’s economic and social initiatives. Recognition was also extended to the top business taxpayers, top real property taxpayers, oldest registered businesses, top employers, and key employer-partners that have significantly contributed to job creation and economic upliftment.

The event was part of the Malabon Business Week, aimed at promoting local economic development, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting entrepreneurship along with micro, small, and medium enterprises. Mayor Sandoval expressed gratitude, stating that the awards symbolize the city’s heartfelt appreciation for the contributions that have driven progress and development.

Special citations were awarded to Senator Bong Go for his support in constructing Super Health Centers, and Senator Robinhood Padilla for his role in developing the Human Resource Management Information System. Additionally, National Housing Authority General Manager Joeben Tai and Presidential Commission for Urban Poor Coordinator Rosario Nenita Mancile were recognized for their support of housing programs.

From the cultural and tourism sector, awards were given to PAGMANA Inc., Kenjie Beauty and Wellness Center, and the Department of Tourism – National Capital Region for their roles in promoting Malabon’s cultural heritage and tourism. The City Government also honored various businesses and organizations for their support of environmental initiatives and partnership in local development.

The Best Seat in the City award recognized establishments like Brew Cave Caf©, Balsa sa Niugan, and C2L2 Food Corporation-Chowking C4 for their exemplary hygiene and sanitation standards, with six other dining establishments named as runners-up for maintaining cleanliness and customer safety.
