Vientiane: Mr. Vanxay Phongsavanh, President of the Party Central Committee for Inspection and the State Inspection Authority, recently welcomed ambassadors from the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the People's Republic of China to Lao PDR in a series of diplomatic engagements.According to Lao News Agency, Mr. Vanxay expressed his gratitude towards Mr. Jung Yung-soo, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea. He emphasized the longstanding friendship between the two countries and expressed readiness to collaborate closely with the Korean embassy to strengthen bilateral relations.On the same occasion, Mr. Vanxay also met with Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand. He highlighted the strategic partnership and tradition of good neighborliness between Laos and Thailand and assured cooperation in promoting mutual prosperity.The diplomatic meetings continued with Ms. Fang Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China. Discussions emphasized the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations and reaffirmed the commitment to a comprehensive and stable strategic partnership aimed at building a shared future between Laos and China.Mr. Vanxay also acknowledged the ambassadors' congratulations on the recent 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. He urged the Lao government to prepare for the transition from Least Developed Country status by 2029, emphasizing the need for a clear plan to secure continued support from development partners.Furthermore, Mr. Vanxay instructed authorities to ensure strict inspections of investment projects and enforce regulations, particularly in forestry management, to promote sustainability and compliance with legal standards.
