Vientiane: The 10th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly’s 9th Legislature is set to occur from 10 to 21 November 2025 at the National Assembly in Vientiane. The session will last for 10 working days, excluding public holidays.
According to Lao News Agency, Ms. Amphayvone Lombounpheng, who serves as an Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, a Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, and Secretary General of the National Assembly, announced the upcoming session on 4 November. During this period, lawmakers are expected to review and adopt key national policies and development plans.
Key agenda items include assessments of the implementation of the 9th National Socio-Economic Development Plan, the State Budget Plan, and the National Agendas addressing economic and financial challenges and drug-related issues for the 2021-2025 period.
Lawmakers will also discuss draft plans for the next five-year cycle (2026-2030), which includes the 10th National Socio-Economic Development Plan and the State Budget and Monetary Plans for 2026. Additionally, the session will cover budget revisions for 2025, final audit results for 2024, and reports from various state bodies such as the State Audit Organization, the State Inspection Authority, the Supreme People’s Court, and the Supreme People’s Prosecutor’s Office.
Preparations for the upcoming elections of the 10th Legislature and the Provincial People’s Councils (5th Legislature) will be reviewed. Members of the outgoing 9th Legislature will receive certificates of completion and commendations.
The Assembly is anticipated to adopt eight resolutions that will address the work of the government, state audit and inspection agencies, the judiciary, and the National Assembly itself. To facilitate public participation, a hotline (number 156) has been made available for citizens to submit feedback and suggestions from 3 to 21 November during official working hours.
