PDEA Seizes PHP101 Million in Illegal Drugs During August Operations

Manila: The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized PHP101.70 million worth of illegal drugs during operations from August 15 to 22. PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez reported that agents conducted 68 anti-illegal drug operations, which resulted in the arrest of 122 individuals. The operations led to the confiscation of 14,003.02 grams of shabu, 36,360.43 grams of dried marijuana leaves, and 8,040 marijuana plants.

According to Philippines News Agency, Nerez emphasized the agency’s commitment to dismantling illegal drug networks and ensuring community safety. He stated that PDEA is intensifying its anti-drug campaign through intelligence-driven and coordinated operations. Nerez also mentioned that future operations will be enhanced by inter-agency collaboration, aiming to be more effective.

Nerez expressed dedication to supporting President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of a drug-free Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines). He praised the collaborative efforts of PDEA regional units, the Philippine National Police, and other law enforcement agencies. Nerez also urged Filipinos to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
