PDEA Seizes PHP36.7 Million Worth of Illegal Drugs in Early August Operations

Manila: The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized PHP36.73 million worth of illegal drugs during operations conducted from August 1 to 8. This was in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to aggressively combat the drug trade in the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez announced that PDEA agents carried out 58 buy-bust operations, served three search warrants, and conducted three interdiction operations. These operations led to the confiscation of 2,699.83 grams of shabu and 19,088 grams of marijuana.

The operations also resulted in the arrest of 63 drug pushers, 29 drug den visitors, 31 drug den owners or maintainers, along with various other high-value targets. Nerez acknowledged the joint efforts of PDEA regional units, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other law enforcement agencies in achieving these results.

Nerez emphasized the agency’s dedication to eliminating drug-related crimes and ensuring the safety of communities across the nation.
