Bulacan: All senatorial candidates of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas should win the midterm elections to ensure the continuity of the administration’s big projects, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Wednesday. During the Alyansa’s campaign rally at the Bulacan Sports Complex, Marcos courted the Bulacan electorate to vote straight for the administration-backed Senate slate.
According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos enumerated several projects and programs of his administration, including the PHP20-per-kg rice program, the establishment of BUCAS centers, the South Commuter Railway, and the San Ildefonso Bypass Road. He emphasized the importance of electing senators who understand the needs of the people and can help improve the lives of every Filipino.
Marcos expressed confidence in the Alyansa’s senatorial candidates, highlighting their willingness to set aside political differences for the sake of unity and development in the country. He stressed that these candidates have pure intentions in improving Filipinos’ lives and aim to maintain peace and order, lower commodity prices, and empower women.
He further stated that the Alyansa candidates are the best partners for his administration’s programs, noting their popularity and competence. This is the second time Alyansa held a campaign rally in Bulacan, following a previous event in San Jose del Monte City.
Bulacan province, known for its high voter turnout, is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the results of the May 12 elections. With 2.17 million registered voters, Bulacan was pivotal in the 2022 elections when the province delivered a decisive victory for Marcos, who secured 1,024,069 votes.
