Vientiane: Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone received General Tea Seiha, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Cambodia, along with his delegation, during their working visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on October 14, 2025.
According to Lao News Agency, the visit was aligned with the Trilateral Meeting of Defence Ministers of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, which took place from October 13-16. This meeting also featured a joint disaster relief exercise involving armed forces from the three countries.
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone welcomed General Tea Seiha, acknowledging the significance of his visit and participation in the trilateral activities. The Prime Minister noted that these engagements are crucial for enhancing solidarity, friendship, and cooperation among the three nations. He highlighted that such interactions help deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Cambodia, especially between their respective armed forces.
The Prime Minister also stressed the ongoing need for cooperation in maintaining peace and stability along the shared border and in combating transnational crime, human trafficking, smuggling, and other illegal activities.
General Tea Seiha expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone for the warm welcome. He briefed the Prime Minister on the objectives of his visit and reiterated Cambodia’s commitment to advancing cooperation between the two Ministries of National Defence.
