Vientiane Wins Two Medals in National Boat Racing

Vientiane: The Vientiane team claimed two medals at the 12th National Game in the 250-meter boat race. Competing in the 12-paddle and 22-paddle categories, the team took gold in the 12-paddle women’s and 22-paddle men’s races. The competitions, held from November 20-23, featured athletes from across Laos. The 12-paddle and 22-paddle women’s races included Vientiane, Savannakhet, and Vientiane Province, while the men’s races featured six regions each. The awards ceremony on November 21 at Bung Thad Luang, Xaysettha District, was presided over by Mr. Somphou Phongsa, Vice President of the Lao National Olympic Committee, alongside key provincial officials.

According to Lao News Agency, the Vientiane team demonstrated strong performance throughout the competition, securing top positions in both the women’s and men’s categories. The event brought together athletes from various regions, showcasing the competitive spirit and skills of the participants. The presence of Mr. Somphou Phongsa and key provincial officials at the awards ceremony highlighted the importance of the event for the local sports community.
