Vientiane: The Vietnam People Army has pledged full support to Laos for the successful organization of the parade and ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of its National Day, commemorating the period from December 2, 1975, to 2025. This commitment was announced by Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang.
According to Lao News Agency, General Thang made this commitment during a courtesy visit to the Lao Minister of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone, in Vientiane. The support from Vietnam includes technical assistance, personnel, and expertise, reflecting the profound bond and special solidarity between the two countries.
General Thang emphasized that Vietnam has always been proud to stand with Laos during pivotal historical occasions, and the assistance for the upcoming celebration is a testament to their enduring partnership. He also recalled the participation of the Lao People’s Army in significant events in Vietnam, highlighting the strong cooperation between the two militaries.
The Vietnam-Laos relationship is a priceless asset that the Parties, States, and peoples of both nations are responsible for preserving, protecting, and nurturing, he noted. General Thang proposed enhancing coordination in communication efforts, particularly among the younger generation, to raise awareness about the bilateral relationship.
Senior Lieutenant General Outhakaysone acknowledged the significance of the Vietnamese delegation’s visit, noting its role in strengthening defence ties between the two countries, which is a crucial aspect of their bilateral relations. He expressed confidence that Vietnam’s dedicated support would ensure the successful organization of Laos’s major upcoming events and reiterated Laos’s commitment to standing alongside Vietnam in fostering their special relationship.
