Vientiane: The Vietnam-Lao trade connection and product promotion fair 2025 commenced in Vientiane on November 20 under the theme ‘peace – cooperation – shared development’. The four-day event seeks to enhance diplomacy, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange between the two nations, contributing to their mutual stability and prosperity.
According to Lao News Agency, the fair was graced by representatives from the Ministries of National Defence of both countries, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, and other relevant agencies. It serves as a platform for Vietnamese businesses, including those affiliated with the Vietnam People’s Army, to network, explore partnerships, and expand trade with Lao companies and the Lao People’s Army. This initiative supports the needs of citizens in both countries and the ASEAN region.
Spanning an area of 7,000 square meters with 150 standard booths from over 70 enterprises, the fair underscores the historic friendship, solidarity, and mutual support between the people and arm
ies of Vietnam and Laos. This bond has been instrumental both during the past struggle for national liberation and in the ongoing process of national construction.
Colonel Phan Duong Minh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the General Department of Defence Industry, emphasized that the fair bolsters defense cooperation, strategic trust, and elevates Vietnam’s international prestige, while promoting sustainable ASEAN development. It provides a platform for Vietnamese enterprises, particularly those in the defense sector, to showcase products, expand business partnerships, and introduce Vietnamese culture, people, and innovations to international friends.
Major General Keosouvanh Phangphilavong, Director of the Propaganda and Training Department under the General Department of Politics of the Lao People’s Army, highlighted the fair’s importance as Laos prepares for the celebration of its 50th National Day and the 105th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane. The event fosters business integration, trade pro
motion, and cooperation between the armies of both nations.
In conjunction with the fair, the organizers presented 20 gifts to families of Lao armed forces and donated 30 computers and 10 printers to the Lao Ministry of National Defence.
