Hanoi: Vietnam witnessed a substantial increase in business activity in October, with nearly 18,000 new enterprises registering during the month. The number of new companies marked a 26.5% rise compared to the same period in 2024, while registered capital grew by 12.3%, and the number of workers increased by 16.3%.
According to Lao News Agency, the average registered capital of newly established enterprises in October was 9.6 billion VND, reflecting a 2.6% decrease compared to the previous month and an 11.2% decline from the same period in 2024. Additionally, 11,600 enterprises resumed operations in October, showing a 7.9% increase from the previous month and a 33.9% rise from the same period in the previous year.
In the same month, 6,065 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, a 32.9% increase from the previous month and an 11.2% rise compared to the same time in 2024. Over the first ten months of 2025, Vietnam recorded 162,900 newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital exceeding 1.59 quadrillion VND, alongside 967,600 registered employees. This period saw a 19.7% increase in the number of firms, a 21.4% rise in registered capital, and an 18.6% growth in the number of employees compared to the same timeframe in 2024.
The average registered capital for new enterprises over the first ten months of 2025 was 9.8 billion VND, an increase of 1.4% from the same period in 2024. The same period also saw 255,900 enterprises returning to operation, marking a 26.5% increase compared to 2024.
Meanwhile, 105,400 companies temporarily suspended business operations, marking a 14.4% increase from the previous year. Additionally, 58,400 enterprises ceased operations pending dissolution procedures, a decline of 8.3%, while 26,800 firms completed dissolution procedures, an increase of 54.5%.
