Vietnam Supports Laos with New National Academy Branch Construction

 

Champasak: The ground-breaking ceremony was held in Champasak province for a project to build the southern region branch of the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration.

According to Lao News Agency, the project has a total investment of 750.8 billion VND (28.4 million USD), including 737.1 billion VND in non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government. At the ceremony, Professor Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), and Chairman of the Central Theory Council, highlighted the significance of this event. He noted that it demonstrates not only the cooperation in education and training between the two Parties and States but also stands as a symbol of the strong friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Laos. This project holds strategic value, showcasing a long-term vision for cooperation in training officials and developing high-quality human resources.

Thang remarked that this initiative is not merely an investment and construction task but also a political mission and a noble international responsibility entrusted by the Party, State, and people of Vietnam. He stated that the groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter in educational and training cooperation between the two countries. With the spirit of special solidarity, the determination of local authorities, and the support of the people of Champasak province, the project is expected to proceed smoothly, safely, and to a high standard, with Phase 1 anticipated to be completed by 2028.

The official also expressed his confidence that the province will become a symbol of Vietnam-Laos friendship, further nurturing the special solidarity between the two nations. President of the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration Phouvong Oukhamsen expressed profound gratitude for the assistance from the Vietnamese Party, Government, and people, affirming that this is a symbol of the special collaboration between Laos and Vietnam.
