Vietnamese, Lao Defence Ministries to Guide Trade Promotion Fair in Vientiane

Vientiane: A Vietnam-Laos trade connection and product promotion fair is set to take place in Vientiane from November 20-23, directed by the defence ministries of both nations. The event aims to bolster trade relations and showcase products from both countries, featuring nearly 120 standard booths.

According to Lao News Agency, the expo will gather major enterprises and reputable brands, displaying a variety of products to meet consumption demands in Laos and the broader ASEAN market. The Vietnam People’s Army will be represented by 26 firms managing 50 booths, while 42 Vietnamese enterprises from ministries, agencies, and civilian sectors will operate 62 booths. Additionally, Lao enterprises, including those under the Lao People’s Army, will have 20 booths, with eight managed by Lao military enterprises.

A notable feature of the event is the Vietnam-Laos investment promotion conference, scheduled for November 21. To date, nearly 30 enterprises have registered for in-person and online business-matching sessions, with expectations for 5-10 such events during the fair. Post-event, the organising committee will continue to support enterprises in pursuing further business connections.

The fair will also include socio-political activities. The organising committee plans to collaborate with agencies, units, and businesses to donate computers and printers to units under the Lao ministry, present gifts to policy-beneficiary families at the opening ceremony, and distribute gifts to Lao visitors throughout the fair.

A Vietnamese cultural space will be set up to highlight the solidarity and friendship between the two nations during their struggles for national liberation and current development. Musical performances by both countries will grace the opening ceremony and continue throughout the event.
