9th Russia-Nicaragua International Pharmaceutical Congress Continues to Foster Global Collaboration

Managua: The IX Russia-Nicaragua International Pharmaceutical Congress is actively facilitating the exchange of experiences and technologies among scientists from various countries, including China, India, Cuba, and El Salvador. The congress is focusing on the development, technology transfer, and distribution of pharmaceutical products within Latin America.

According to Lao News Agency, the congress, which concludes this Thursday, features over 30 speakers and is centered around the theme ‘Strengthening National Biotechnology Capacity: Connecting Strategies and Technologies.’ The event aims to enhance collaboration and share insights on pressing pharmaceutical topics.

Participants engaged in significant presentations, including a session on the New Concept of the Dengue Vaccine, led by Sergey Arakelov, head of the advisory office at the St. Petersburg Institute of Vaccines and Serums. Sevastian Rabdano, head of R and D at the same institute, delivered a lecture on innovative platform solutions for developi
ng and manufacturing biologics.

Other discussions focused on strengthening regulatory systems and their impact on local drug production, as well as the future outlook for the Pan American Health Organization. The event’s agenda also highlights panels discussing Nicaragua’s role as a technological and logistics hub for accessing pharmaceutical markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, alongside discussions on the future of the biopharmaceutical industry.

Veronica Skvortsova, head of the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency, opened the event by advocating for sustained scientific cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua. She emphasized the importance of developing science collaboratively for the benefit of their peoples and expressed her hopes for the congress’s success in advancing biotechnological innovation across Nicaragua and Latin America.
