Ho Chi Minh City: A grand parade marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification took place in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1, with over 13,000 participants commemorating the historic event. The celebration, held on April 30, featured an array of military and civilian contingents, showcasing Vietnam’s rich history and diverse capabilities.
According to Lao News Agency, the parade commenced with an aerial display by the Vietnam People’s Army helicopter squadron and fighter jets, performing maneuvers over the city. The procession continued with floats carrying symbolic models and portraits, followed by formations representing various branches of the military, including the Liberation Army and the Vietnam People’s Army.
Military forces paraded in their distinctive uniforms, demonstrating their roles in national defense. Units such as the Infantry Officers, Naval Officers, Air Defence, and Border Guard Officers highlighted their contributions to safeguarding Vietnam’s sover
eignty. Specialized groups like the Coast Guard Officers and Cyber Warfare Force showcased modern warfare capabilities.
Female contingents, including Information Officers and Military Medical Officers, demonstrated their essential roles in communications and healthcare. The parade also featured Electronic Warfare Troops and the Cyber Warfare Force, emphasizing Vietnam’s readiness in protecting and controlling information systems.
International military contingents from China, Laos, and Cambodia participated, reflecting Vietnam’s diplomatic relations and regional solidarity. Civilian groups represented various societal sectors, celebrating the collective spirit of the Vietnamese people.
The event concluded with a symbolic release of balloons and white doves, embodying peace and hope for the future.
