Cambodia’s Trade with ASEAN Reaches 5.9 Billion USD in Early 2025

Phnom Penh: Cambodia’s trade volume with its fellow ASEAN member states reached 5.9 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months of 2025, marking a 4.6 percent increase from 5.64 billion dollars during the same period last year.

According to Lao News Agency, the kingdom exported products worth 2.35 billion dollars to other ASEAN countries between January and April this year, representing a 7.3 percent increase from 2.19 billion dollars over the same period last year. The report from the General Department of Customs and Excise highlighted that Cambodia’s total imports from ASEAN countries amounted to 3.55 billion dollars, a rise of 2.9 percent from 3.45 billion dollars.

Cambodia’s trade with ASEAN accounted for 29.9 percent of the country’s total trade volume of 19.7 billion dollars in the first four months of 2025. The report identified Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia as Cambodia’s top five trading partners within ASEAN.

Ministry of Commerce’s Secretary of State and Spokesperson, Penn Sovicheat, stated that Cambodia’s primary exports to ASEAN included garments, shoes, travel goods, solar panels, electronics, spare parts for vehicles and bicycles, as well as agricultural products like milled rice and cashew nuts.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet remarked at a recent Cambodia-ASEAN business summit that ASEAN stands as a beacon of stability and prosperity, underscored by its position as the world’s fifth-largest economy. He emphasized that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement has reinforced ASEAN’s commitment to enhancing regional integration and fostering mutually beneficial economic and trade relations.
