Phnom penh: Cambodia Airways has officially launched a direct flight service connecting Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with Vientiane, the Lao PDR, enhancing air connectivity between the two neighboring countries. The airline operated its inaugural flight on January 29, 2026, with 153 passengers on board. This new route aims to facilitate travel for businesspeople, tourists, and officials, while supporting trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.According to Lao News Agency, the airline currently operates two flights per week, scheduled on Thursdays and Sundays. Cambodia Airways stated that the new route reflects a growing demand for direct air links within the Mekong sub-region and may be expanded in the future based on market response.
