Busan: Republic of Korea’s main bourse operator announced plans to hold a global conference on the derivatives market in the southern port city of Busan next week. This single-day event will be co-hosted by the Washington-based Futures Industry Association and is set to attract officials from local financial institutions, global investment banks, and international rating agencies.
According to Lao News Agency, the forum will include two panel discussions where attendees will exchange views on Republic of Korea’s derivatives market and its future prospects. The Korea Exchange (KRX) highlighted that the event coincides with the inaugural year of after-hours trading of derivatives in the country and marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the KRX’s Busan headquarters, located approximately 330 kilometers south of Seoul.
The KRX stated, “We plan to actively discuss industry trends, including expansion of trading hours and the introduction of digital assets, with market players and seek the future direction of the derivatives industry.”
