Scientists Warn of Intense Magnetic Storms on Earth

Moscow: Scientists from the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences predicted on Sunday strong magnetic storms on Earth on September 2. Experts told reporters that the storms will be caused by solar plasma ejection heading toward the planet, leading to an M2.76-level flare on the Sun.

According to Lao News Agency, the solar matter is expected to reach Earth’s orbit on September 2, triggering G2-G4 magnetic storms on a five-point scale. The agency’s solar astronomy laboratory shared this information on its Telegram channel.

The Russian agency highlighted that the greatest concern stems from the possibility of repeated plasma emissions. These emissions are deemed ‘highly likely’ due to the high estimates of the total energy reserves of solar flares, suggesting increased activity from the Sun that could impact Earth’s magnetic field.
