Vientiane: Minister of Education and Sports, Mr. Thongsalith Mangmormek, received a courtesy visit from Mr. Jean Gabriel Duss, Head of the Office for Development Cooperation and Swiss Consular Affairs in Laos, marking an important diplomatic engagement.

According to Lao News Agency, the meeting celebrated Mr. Thongsalith’s recent appointment as Minister and reinforced the enduring relations between Laos and Switzerland, which have been established since 1963. During the meeting, Minister Thongsalith expressed gratitude for Switzerland’s ongoing support in vital sectors such as education, agriculture, health, trade and investment, tourism, statistics, UXO clearance, and climate-related environmental initiatives.

Mr. Duss congratulated Minister Thongsalith on his new position and expressed optimism regarding the Ministry’s future advancements under his leadership. He also reaffirmed Switzerland’s dedication to enhancing bilateral cooperation in both existing and new areas of development.
