Tokyo: Prime Minister Sonexay concluded his participation in the 31st Future of Asia Conference, where he delivered a keynote address outlining the Lao PDR's perspectives on significant regional and global issues, including peace, security, and their implications for economic and socio-economic development in Asia and beyond. He also engaged in discussions with regional leaders and representatives of international organizations to strengthen cooperation in addressing shared challenges.
According to Lao News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized Laos' vision and strategies for implementing its foreign policy and the 10th National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026-2030). He reiterated the country's commitment to green and sustainable development and its transition following graduation from Least Developed Country status.
On the sidelines of the event, Prime Minister Sonexay interacted with conference participants and granted a special interview to Nikkei News Agency. During the interview, he discussed regional and global challenges affecting socio-economic development and reaffirmed Laos' commitment to enhancing regional cooperation based on mutual benefit, peace, stability, and sustainable development.
