Moscow: The Russian government has announced plans to establish a center dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence (AI) within the country, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko. The announcement, made public by the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, underscores the government’s commitment to advancing AI technologies.
According to Lao News Agency, the new AI development center will focus on the selection and replication of model decisions, as well as the coordination between government authorities, regional entities, and businesses. The center will also provide expert and methodological support and facilitate international cooperation in AI development. Deputy Prime Minister Grigorenko will oversee the operations of this center.
The initiative aims to ensure that all Russian citizens can benefit from AI advancements, while simultaneously boosting the country’s competitiveness in global markets. “We face the task of all the Russians having access to results of artificial intelligence implementation and that our country increases competitiveness in global markets on account of development of modern technologies,” Grigorenko emphasized. The center’s establishment is a strategic move to unify the efforts of all stakeholders in the AI development process across Russia.
