Speaker Romualdez Highlights Progress of Palayan City Township Housing Project

Palayan City: House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Monday conducted an inspection of the Palayan City Township Housing Project in Nueva Ecija, highlighting the site as a representation of the transformative efforts under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program initiated by the Marcos administration.

According to Philippines News Agency, Romualdez reflected on the advancements observed since attending the groundbreaking ceremony alongside President Marcos nearly two and a half years ago. He noted significant progress with eight of the 24 planned mid-rise buildings currently under active construction. Two buildings, containing 538 units, are undergoing the Pag-IBIG Fund’s loan takeout process, with another 538 units expected to be ready for turnover by June 2026.

Several families have already occupied their new homes, with support from the local government and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in completing interior work. The development includes amenities such as a clubhouse, swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, central park, and open recreational areas, all donated by BellaVita Land Corporation, a subsidiary of the Ayala Group.

Romualdez expressed gratitude for the collaboration between the government and private sector, emphasizing its importance in benefiting the community. The Palayan City government has also reopened housing applications, offering more Nueva Ecija residents, including low-income families, informal settlers, and local employees, the opportunity to benefit from the 4PH program.

Romualdez commended President Marcos for his leadership, attributing the success of the 4PH program to his administration’s efforts to deliver significant results for Filipinos. He noted that the Palayan project is part of a nationwide initiative to address the country’s substantial housing backlog, which the DHSUD estimates at 6.5 to 7 million units. He assured continued support from the House of Representatives in crafting legislation and securing funding to maintain the momentum of the 4PH program.
