Pak ngum: The torch relay for the 12th National Games, set to be hosted by Vientiane Capital from 15 to 25 November 2025, was conducted on 3 November in Pak Ngum District. The event saw participation from several key figures, including Mr. Phouvong Vongkhamxao, Vice Governor of Vientiane Capital and Vice President of the National Organising Committee, Major General Paenkham Boutchanpheng, Party Secretary of Bokeo Province, and Mr. Bounlay Boutthi, Party Secretary of Xekong Province.

According to Lao News Agency, Mr. Phouvong emphasized that the torch relay serves as a symbol of unity among national and provincial leaders, officials, students, and citizens, all of whom are preparing to ensure the successful hosting of the Games.

The ceremony, marking the seventh stage of the relay, commenced at Ban Phao Secondary School. Mr. Phouvong initiated the relay, leading the first 200 meters before handing the torch to Major General Paenkham and Mr. Bounlay, who carried it sequentially. Subsequently, Mr. Khammoun Tiengthalad, Party Secretary of Pak Ngum District, presented the torch to the Organising Committee.

The next leg of the torch relay is scheduled to occur in Xaythany District on 7 November, continuing the ceremonial procession.
