Buon Ma Thuot: The People’s Committee of Dak Lak province organized a ceremony in Buon Ma Thuot city to receive the First-Class Labour Order conferred by the Lao Government.
According to Lao News Agency, the event also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on friendship and cooperation between the People’s Committee of Dak Lak province and the administration of Sekong province of Laos for the 2025-2030 period. The MoU aims to enhance the friendship and cooperation between Dak Lak and Sekong, focusing on increasing communication and educational efforts among younger generations about the policies of the two Parties and States, and the responsibility to maintain and nurture the friendship between the two nations and their provinces.
The agreement outlines commitments to boost delegation exchanges and promote cultural, sports, tourism, and people-to-people interactions, thus deepening mutual understanding and solidarity. Both provinces aim to present their potential and cooperation needs to relevant agencies and enterprises to foster trade and investment cooperation, encouraging business ventures and project implementations.
In terms of socio-economic cooperation, Dak Lak and Sekong have agreed to share experiences and conduct joint activities in areas like crop and livestock production, aquaculture, forestry, irrigation, and agricultural processing. They also pledged to facilitate access to public medical services for Sekong residents in Dak Lak.
Nguyen Dinh Trung, Secretary of the Dak Lak provincial Party Committee, highlighted the significance and honor of receiving the First-Class Labour Order, acknowledging the appreciation from Laos for Dak Lak’s contributions to the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. He emphasized the importance of the 2025-2030 MoU as a milestone for sustainable and comprehensive cooperation. Trung expressed confidence in the effective implementation of the MoU, given the provinces’ shared characteristics and strategic orientation.
Trung called on departments, agencies, and local authorities in Dak Lak to collaborate with Sekong province to develop detailed action plans to ensure effective execution of the MoU.
Leklai Sivilay, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Governor of Sekong province, expressed hopes for continued development of their traditional solidarity and cooperation. He suggested enhancing collaboration in human resource training and encouraged Dak Lak to continue offering scholarships to Sekong students. He also expressed a desire to welcome Dak Lak’s officials, people, and businesses to Sekong for cooperation opportunities in various sectors.
